I was explaining to someone recently what I do for a living. Depending who I talk to, I sometimes use the word ‘Recruiter’ and at other times, ‘Headhunter’. Both terms it appears, carry quite different perceptions but on this occasion, I coined the phrase ‘ recruiting headhunter’. Maybe I needed to blur the preconception.

I’m not in the habit of slating the competition but when I hear time and time again about recruitment agencies who didn’t or don’t care, it makes me more determined to maintain my own business values of authenticity, integrity and yes, ‘care’.

I had a call yesterday from a candidate who landed his dream job through me before Christmas. He has been working hard and really enjoying the challenge. But he had a ‘wobble’ yesterday about an issue in the business and he called me for some advice.
